Sheila E. Marino

Sheila Esther Butler Marino, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026. Born on January 21, 1939, in Dublin, Ireland, Sheila carried her Irish heritage with pride throughout her life. She often shared stories of her childhood and family in Ireland, keeping those memories alive and passing them on to future generations. In 1960 she courageously immigrated to the United States where she built a life centered on love, family, and perseverance. In 1962, Sheila met her future husband, Croce Richard Marino. They married in 1963 and together raised four children: Richard, Kelly, Karen, and Paul. Family was always at the center of Sheila's life, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to those she loved. Sheila is survived by her daughters, Kelly Marino Dannen, and Karen Marino; her grandchildren, Kevin, Brianna, and Daniel; and her beloved great-grandson, Kevin Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Croce Richard Marino, and her sons, Richard Marino and Paul Marino. She was also a beloved sister to Danny, Kay, Aamon, Brendan, Anthony, Desmond, Esther, and Norman and a beloved daughter to Robert and Ester Butler. The bonds she shared with her siblings remained close to her heart throughout her life, and her stories of family and life in Ireland were among her most treasured memories. Those who knew Sheila will remember her for her kindness, resilience, generosity, and deep devotion to her family. Her journey from Dublin to America reflected the courage and determination that defined her character. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family values that will continue to inspire all who knew her. While her family mourns her passing, they take comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and the love she shared so freely throughout her life. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 27th at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Santa Clarita. Burial will take place immediately afterward at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Sylmar. Following the burial, family and friends are invited to join together for a reception at the Dannen residence to share memories, stories, and fellowship in remembrance of Sheila.
